Her main research field concerns preparation and characterization of polymeric nanoparticles and microparticles as drug carriers for parenteral or oral delivery. Primary experimental methods used in the work include analysis of particle size by laser diffraction, HPLC analysis and drug release studies (pharmacopeial and non-pharmacopeial methods). Her current work focuses on the incorporation of calcitriol (active metabolite of vitamin D3 with potential anticancer activity) into biodegradable nanoparticles in order to minimize hypercalcemic effect of calcitriol.
